12 years

Today marks 12 years (!) since I departed—with frosty terror arcing through my veins—for my year abroad. Ach! Such a speedy passage of time! Although my year in London wasn’t perfect, it was still, hands down, the most superb of my four college years.

I’m grateful for the chance to go back later this month, but I have to say, finding a decent hotel was an ordeal and a half. London hotels are too expensive! That’s assuming you want a hotel that isn’t caked in filth and run by assholes. I hunted and hunted until I finally found a small and economical family-run hotel in King’s Cross which got rave reviews on TripAdvisor.com. Hopefully I’ll get a confirmation receipt soon.

My workload this weekend was minimal, so I’ve had a lot of time to just relax, read, update my website, and cruise through some DVDs. I think I’ll take the cats into the yard for a bit this afternoon, too, because the weather is stellar!
