Happy Birthday, Kristen Boyer Errera!!!

We had a small snowstorm yesterday and 5.5 inches landed in my backyard. It was lovely snow—straight out of a movie—and until mid-morning today, when it began melting, everything was unspeakably beautiful.

We were expecting some ice last night, so as soon as it stopped snowing I set aside my freelancing and went outside to shovel, shovel, shovel. I wanted to do the shoveling while the snow was light and fluffy, instead of concrete-heavy. We ended up not getting as much ice as predicted, but even the small amount we got would’ve made shoveling this morning more difficult.

Meanwhile, I’m impressed that I managed to do all that shoveling without pulling any major muscles. How the hell did I manage that?
